Ingredients:
Seedless grapes
Apple slices
Strawberries
Melon
Brie, Camembert and Port Salut Cheeses
Directions:
A natural complement to cheese is fruit. Place seedless grapes, apple slices (sprinkled with lemon juice to prevent discoloring), strawberries and melon in the center of the tray. Surround fruit with wedges of assorted dessert cheeses, such as Brie, Camembert and Port Salut. The fruit should be chilled until ready to serve, but the cheese should be removed from refrigeration 1 to 2 hours before serving. The cheese should be cut into wedges while it is cold, then left at room temperature. Crackers and/or thin slices of french bread should be placed in a basket next to the tray.
Such a cheese and fruit tray is a welcome change from the ordinary overly-sweet dessert.
