1 cup C&H Pure Cane Baker’s Sugar
1 cup packed C&H Pure Cane Dark Brown Sugar
½ cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups pecan halves
1. In large saucepan, combine sugars, milk and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sugars dissolve. Raise heat and boil until mixture reaches 236 degrees F on candy thermometer (soft ball stage). Add vanilla and salt; cook 1 minute longer.
2. Remove from heat; add pecans and beat with wooden spoon until mixture begins to harden, 2 to 4 minutes. Drop from spoon onto waxed paper. Cool.
