Six dessert servings
1 1/2 cup of shredded (on a smaller grate) of Georgia Gold Clothbound Cheddar
3 apples, cored, peeled, and diced
6 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Your favorite caramel sauce
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Shred the Georgia Gold on a smaller grate of a box grater. Place heaping tablespoons of Georgia Gold on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This should make about 12 crisps. Bake for about 5 minutes, or until crisp. The crisps can be stored in an airtight container for 24 hours.
Melt the butter in a heavy skillet. Add the apples and the brown sugar, and stir to coat. Cook until the apples are softened, stirring occasionally.
To assemble, place a few spoonfuls of the sautéed apples on a dessert plate. Prop up two crisps on the apples like a tepee. Drizzle with caramel sauce.
