Then in 1893, Joshua's son Ernest introduced coffee to the Irish public. From his premises in central Dublin, he demonstrated the art of coffee making, whilst his wife prepared freshly baked scones. The rest is history. By 1927 Bewley's had grown to include cafes, shops, bakeries, and a handmade chocolate factory.
Bewley's cafes became the place to meet, relax, enjoy good food, think, and write. Indeed, some of Ireland's most famous literary sons have succumbed to the lure of Bewley's legendary cafes. Brendan Behan, Patrick Kavanagh, and James Joyce among others have all enjoyed the hospitality that is Bewley's.
This fine breakfast blend consists of top quality small leaf Darjeeling and top quality Rwandan and Assam Indian teas. It has a creamy, malt flavor with a pleasant aftertaste. This is the tea that is served in Bewley's Cafes in Ireland. Its strong flavor is best complemented by the addition of milk.
