Though bold it is not overpowering, possibly the best blue for those who prefer bold blues.
Comments about Maytag Blue:
Excellent blue that is not bitter. I like it best by itself, spread very thinly, on a water cracker.

I have a great turkey meatloaf recipe that is stuffed with spinach, onions and feta cheese. I decided to use the Maytag instead of feta. It was so outstanding that I won't be using feta in this recipe again. I also use crumbled Maytag as a topping for tossed salad. Delicious!

The flavor was wonderful. We ate it alone with crackers and in salads. It is the best blue cheese we have ever eaten.

I was introduced to this Blue by a friend, and it still remains one of my favorites. Great to crumble over a salad with spinach, pears, walnuts and cranberries, and also great to serve with crackers and eat plain.
Comments about Maytag Blue:
Absolutely my favorite Blue Cheese. Don't buy too much at a time (so you have to freeze any), because it does get a bit sticky after thawing--the texture changes a bit, but not badly (maybe all Blue Cheese is like this?). But still, a wonderful Blue Cheese.
Comments about Maytag Blue:
Maytag blue is the best the world over. Try it you will not be disappointed.
Comments about Maytag Blue:
This is a great cheese to combine with pasta, walnuts, and an alfredo and traditional spaghetti sauce of your choice. Put a bit of each sauce on either side of the plate over the pasta, crumble the Maytag Blue down the center, and add a few pieces of walnuts!!! A glass of Pinot Noir, a chodolate dessert, and you are in heaven!!!
Comments about Maytag Blue:

Very good straight from the cheese board or melted over beef.
Comments about Maytag Blue:
More assertive than English blues like Royal Stilton but wonderful on a piece of bread or melted into a sauce. It's Iowa best export
!

Fantastic, smooth, creamy flavor. This is great for the novice cheese buyer. My husband and I loved this cheese.

We keep finding new uses for this marvelous cheese.
Comments about Maytag Blue:
This is the most wonderful blue cheese; my absolute favorite. I was first introduced to it by way of a martini featuring maytag blue cheese stuffed olives. Mmmmmm! This blue cheese is so creamy & good, not harsh or too tangy. We put in in fresh jalape?o peppers, spread it on crackers, crumbled it over salads, melted it on cheeseburgers. It's good with everything. I will purchase this cheese again & again.
