Atalanta is the Greek goddess of hunt, travel, and adventure. She was a bold and admirable goddess, who refused to get married until she finished her education, traveled the world, and enjoyed a few adventures. The name Atalanta is thus appropriate for this new blue cheese from Wisconsin. It's a bold cheese that took several years to perfect. Enjoy it crumbled over salads, stirred into sauces, or on crackers.

Comments about Atalanta Crumbly Blue:

I took a loaf of multi-flavored bread [...] and melted this cheese in a double boiler - then spread it on the bread and sat back and indulged myself and my taste buds. Also served this product at the Thanksgiving meal on celery sticks and blended into a Tomato Bisque. A tremendous value. I highly recommend it.

Comments about Atalanta Crumbly Blue:

Started with the product on crackers then rye breads then made some garlic rye bread and then poured the 'port' and that was my downfall. Invited the neighbors in, cooked up some bacon and hashbrowns and put some grated Atalanta on the hashbrowns; this led to some extremely favorable and flavorful comments and my re-order. This is the cheese of choice.

I can't wait to run out so that I can purchase more. I found your website by accident and accidents happen for a reason, Thank You so MUCH. Jim

Not the best I've had but above average flavor. Crumbled nicely. Hard to spread on crackers without breaking them. Needed to be a little softer and more creamy. A good blue for the money. The price was right. I may buy again.

Comments about Atalanta Crumbly Blue:

I am so thrilled with this find! This is a delicious cheese that is very versatile. It has a creamy texture, yet is not so soft that it cannot be crumbled for salads. I used it on sandwiches, hamburgers, steaks, and even melted into my alfredo sauce! Also used it on crackers and fruit. Delicious! Don't think you will find better for this price.

Bold but not too bold...
By Dexter NashVerified Reviewer from Kansas on 2/25/2007
Pros:
Bold, Clean taste, Firm, Good Value, High Quality
Best Uses:
Party, Sauces, Snacking, Toppings
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Atalanta Crumbly Blue:

While this blue has a bold flavor it isn't so intense as others may be. For those who aren't blue cheese fans it allows the casual cheese connoisseur to enjoy it's wonderful taste. Slightly crumbly but firm in texture it can simply be eating as a snack cheese with little mess. Terrific as a topping for salads, burgers, soups, etc.
