This shelf-stable cheddar comes to us from the Bega Co-Operative Society in Australia. Bega Cheddar does not require refrigeration, making it great for road trips, camping, or shipping to loved-ones at APO or FPO locations. A mild white cheddar, it has a creamy texture and is not overly salty.

it's like eating modeling clay.

this cheese is excellant anytime and with any food. it is perfect after dinner or as a lunch. i would highly recommened it to anyone.

The cheese in a can concept is a little odd. That made opening the container and getting out a little more difficult (hint: open both the top and bottom of the can and let the cheese fall out onto a plate). More importantly, the cheese is a pleasant tasting cheese that I found delightful. My youngest child (8 years old) found it too sharp for her tastes but sadly she has grown up on American processed cheese. It is best served and eaten with crackers or crisp bread. I was a bit disappointed that it did not melt well in the oven, on the other hand, the warm cheese tasted wonderful. Overall, I will definitely buy more and keep it for trips and emergencies.
