The white truffle hails from Italy's Piedmont region. It has an earthy, garlicky aroma and flavor. This decadent treat adds armomatic flavor to any menu. It will jazz up risottos, baked potates, and asparagus.

Comments about White Truffle Butter by D'Artagnan:

I used this in a classic risotto and it worked great. It even tastes great off of your finger. But what is it really? If you read the ingredients, it has more porcini mushrooms than truffle, and has some soy sauce to boot. I realize D'Artagnan products command a steep price, but is this worth [$] for 3 ounces? Personally, I will buy truffle flavored olive oil in the future for my risotto. It would be less expensive and in my experience impart more truffle flavor to the risotto.

Melt this on top of anything, and add a wonderful touch. We especially love it with scallops, but it was great on our steak washington for Christmas.

Comments about White Truffle Butter by D'Artagnan:

The label states that includes boletus mushrooms (probably the bits visible in the butter) and truffle flavor. I uspect then that the content of real truffle is very low, if noticeable at all.
