Located in: Cheese, England
Cotswold, also known as "Pub Cheese," is the name given to this hearty cheese that combines Double Gloucester with flavorful bits of chive and onion. A harmonious blend of mellow, crumbly cheese and powerful vegetables, Cotswold is a terrific complement to the softer, milder flavors on your cheese board. In England, it is a notoriously popular pub cheese that is commonly served with hard-crusted bread and a strong, dark ale. Wonderful melted on grilled chicken or chops, and atop burgers.

This is a great, novel taste. The basic cheese is good and the onion perks are just right.

Comments about Cotswold - Pound Cut:

If you like a full-bodied cheddar with a subtle green onion backdrop, this is the cheese for you. The finish leaves a happy tang in your mouth. Definitely warm it to room temperature, and just stand at your kitchen counter and enjoy. At first, I tried noshing a bit, then putting it back - just ended up with my many trips to get it back out again. So trust me - just stand there, nosh, enjoy and smile!

Comments about Cotswold - Pound Cut:

Another staple at our house. Excellent versatile cheese. Great for snacking, and surprisingly tasty served up with a fruit tray. I have even used it for cooking in a pinch, though its a shame since you loose many of the nuances in cooking that make it such a great noshing cheese.

Comments about Cotswold - Pound Cut:

A friend sent me a sampler of cheese, including the Cotswold, and I liked it so much I ordered some more. It has a unique taste thanks to the addition of the onion and chives, but it's not overpowering. It's perfect for snacking--alone, on crackers, and is great with fruit.
