Located in: Cheese, England
White Stilton, the young, immature cousin to the world famous British blue cheese, is extra creamy and deliciously tangy but somehow unfinished all by itself - much like plain yogurt. Hence the need to introduce a fruit. Available with apricots, lemon, ginger, and several other wicked flavors. Each of these flavorful additions tames the brash White Stilton. After your first bite you will immediately recognize that the combination is a natural fit. The expert cheesemakers have added exactly the right amount of fruit such that the cheese is not overly sweet. Aged for a minimal time period, our family of flavored White Stiltons are fresh tasting products. Owing to their delicious flavors, beautiful presentations and wickedly scrumptious names, they are among the best selling blended cheeses in the U.K.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
  • Suitable for vegetarians.
  • Varieties are sold separately

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

It was my fault, I didn't read enough. We order the White Stilton with Fruit often, the Mango & Ginger variety. When it was listed this last time it just said "Ginger" but I had never seen that before and expected it to be what we have always received. It wasn't - and I bought two of them. Without the mango it's bitter and just doesn't taste good to us. [...]

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

Stiltons, in general, are a safe cheese for people who are afraid to try moldy cheeses. This Stilton is so delicious that it would even taste great without the lemon -- but don't take that lemon away! This cheese could be dessert, and it's best crumbled over salads. It is absolutely delicious!

I enjoyed the flavor of the Stilton with lemon. It surprised me with how crumbly it was, but I took advantage of this by crumbling it over salads and certain soups. It was a wonderful addition to these dishes

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

Upon fist taste, this was just like a mango milkshake, very little about it reminds you of cheese. It doesn't even have the fermented flavor, but rather tastes fresh and bright and fruity. I imagined that the mango bits would be dried, but they were juicy and fresh. I imagined that the ginger might make it hot, but it was incredibly subtle. This cheese would even be perfect for people who don't care for cheese.
I actually tried it for the fist time paired with mead, I took one bite, and said to myself, "this is so good, it is a sin to eat it alone." I packed up a picnic basket and drove to my friend's house. My friend is still talking about the mango stilton!
I am not a wealthy person, but I am educated and have adventurous tastes. This cheese is a must have for me. I will always find room in my budget for it.

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

Had to get used to it because it was more crumbly that most Stiltons-seemed as if it had been frozen. The fruit in it makes you think of it as a festive occasion cheese.
Nevertheless, it was popular on a cheese platter with other cheeses to choose from. It disappeared in seconds.

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

This is our 4th or 5th purchase of this cheese at iGourmet. We were introduced to White Stilton at a wine & cheese tasting several years ago and have been enjoying it ever since. We keep finding it at local markets where we can save the shipping charges - but they just aren't the same. This cheese is a treat and when we "settle" for the ones in our local market we regret it - so we keep coming back.

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

We loved this cheese. We ate it with pears and also by itself. The apricot was lightly sweet, the mango and ginger less sweet and more tangy (probably the ginger). It is a bit crumbly, but we didn't let a single crumb go to waste!

Mostly we ate this for dessert. It's also wonderful in salads.

It was so good I ordered another mango and ginger.

Comments about White Stilton with Fruit:

The Mango and Stilton is always a popular hit. We have been disappointed in some of the other fruits but have not tried them all. The blueberry was good but not as uniformly popular and not as visually appealing as the lighter colored fruits.

When having lunch of a salad, and your cheeses with a baguette, this is the dessert cheese at the end of the meal.

We like the apricot the best.
