Huntsman is the marriage of two delicious British classics, Double Gloucester and Blue Stilton, brought together through a complex layering process. Creamy, forceful Stilton is sandwiched between an exterior of mellow, satiny Double Gloucester. The result is an excellent flavor combination that is as delicious as it is beautiful. While some purists may turn their noses up at modern creations like Huntsman, one taste led us to appreciate this English application of technology and innovation.

Comments about Huntsman:

1st time trying this cheese, and was a little wary. A pleasant surprise! The Gloucester was a nice mellow balance for the blue. The blue was quite crumbly, but certainly nothing to complain about. Quite tasty, was disappointed to see it out of stock - was hoping to get some more!

This is a superior Huntsman cheese. It is one of my favorite cheeses but this one has a smoothness and complexity that others lack. The flavor is still sharp and full bodied without being harsh. I will order this cheese again msny times.

Good but Messy!
By Felt QueenVerified Purchaser from Elkton, MD on 10/18/2008

Cons:
A little messy, Hard to cut
Best Uses:

Comments about Huntsman:

This bold combination is perfect for after dinner port. The flavor of the two strong cheeses is not for the meek. The only down side is that it is a little messy to cut into portion, as it tends to break apart, but it is delicious.

Creamy, Flavorful
Best Uses:
After Dinner, Hors d'oeuvre
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Huntsman:

I tried the cheese by itself at room temperature. It was very strong and salty. I'm going to try it again after it's been out of the fridge for 15 minutes or so. It had set out for an hour or so before I tried it the last time. Hopefully, it'll be better and I can list this as a favorite of mine. It's so pretty not to like!

Exceptional with seasonal beers. Excellent with wines like French Bordeaux or Sauternes. Great after 15 minutes at room temperature. It doesn't separate like most Huntsman so the flavors can be appreciated together. Probably the best Huntsman I have ever had.

Surprising uses
By Debra from Norfolk, VA on 9/23/2007
Pros:
Creamy, Firm, Flavorful, Pungent, Rich, Smooth
Best Uses:
Melted, Omelet, Sandwiches
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Huntsman:

Adding this to an omelet is a whole new experience. Yes, you could add the cheeses one at a time, but where is the fun in that? Shave it off and let it crumble and melt at its own uneven pace. Every bite is new and different.

Comments about Huntsman:

I use Huntsman cheese for dessert, served with water crackers, dried figs, and port wine. It is a visual cheese, best served by itself for effect. Serve at room temperature.I buy in bulk for price. I wrap portions in plastic wrap, then double freezer bags, and freeze until needed. Dessert always gets rave reviews for almost no work. Prices can vary from $15 to $30 per pound.

Comments about Huntsman:

My wife and I both love cheese. Cheese and crusty bread, or with crackers. One day my wife was out to the gym and she stopped by the local cheese market to pick up the cheese knife I ordered. To my wonderful surprise she bought some huntsman cheese. We never tried it before, though we both adore Stilton and double gloucester. It didn't last long we devoured every morsal and plan to add it to our list of favorites.
