What can you say that hasn't already been said about Stilton. This is a standard on every order we make from igourmet, one of our banker cheeses. We enjoy Stilton and crackers mid afternoon or after dinner with a nice hearty red wine or vintage Port as the perfect after dinner cheese. This cheese is salty, complex, tangy and everyone should at least have the opportunity to decide if it's for them. Very highly recommended, right up there as one of the three noblest cheeses.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
I served this cheese and crackers at a Bon Appetit event and everyone loved it. I would definitely recommend purchasing this item.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
This is an excellent Stilton. A great finish to a dinner along with a glass of Port.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Poor quality Stilton. Very firm, not crumbly like other Stiltons. [...]
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
The current batch of this Stilton is not very good. It is virtually unregonizable as Stilton. The cheese is bitter, and not at all buttery as one should expect.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
This was my first blue cheese, and I was a little worried it might be too strong. That fear was quickly laid to rest with the first bite. Royal Blue has a complex, strong, but not overbearing personality. Served on Australian Water Wheels as an appetizer with a quality Belgian ale, it was flavorful, pungent (but in a good way) and satisfying. Definitely recommended.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
If you like bleu cheese, you will probably like this very much. It does have a somewhat different and more unpleasant odor from the typical Danish Bleu cheese, but even better flavor than the typical Danish bleu.

Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Seriously, I have to wonder if either you guys got a bad batch of cheese and decided to ship it anyway, or if all these reviews are totally bogus. The cheese that I got was bitter and one dimensional. I love blue cheese, and I've never met a Stilton I didn't love...until I got this. Not salty, not creamy, not complex, not in any way....worth eating. The first notes were mild and really pretty boring, followed by a bitter and lingering aftertaste that was hard to lose. I had a few friends try it as well just to see if I was out of my mind - we all agreed - straight to the trash.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
I've had stilton before supermarket stilton and I have to say from the first bite, this knocked my socks off. I enjoyed it with the Australian Panforte a chocolate item and my joy increased tenfold. I never though cheese and Chocolate could go so well together. I ate all of it in one day. Wish I could have done more with it, but it was to hard to resist it''s deliciousness.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
If you're handy in the kitchen, why not make a hearty pot of Stilton and Broccoli soup. Add white port for extra richness and serve with hot crusty bread. Absolutely delicious.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
This is a wonderful cheese, soft and crumbly. I use it in a potato/leek soup with Stilton recipe and as a snack, and it's extremely flavorful with a delightful consistency.

Great big blue
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Stinky cheeses can be a turn off and this was no different.I gave it a while at room temp and tried again and loved it.Very complex and it takes some thinking on my part to discern so many different flavors all wrapped in one.If you like flavor with a great deal of depth, you'll like this.

The standard bearer for Blue Cheese, the one that is imitated but never equalled.

Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Blue cheese I am use to is stronger than the Stilton. When I first opened the wrapper, I wasn't sure. But as the cheese had a chance to breathe, there was that "blueness", but more delicate than what I have had before. It is one to allow to stay on the tongue and notice the layers of flavor. Swallow to fast and you will miss it.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Allowing this cheese, or any cheese for that matter, to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes will only make it that much better.
This "King of Cheeses" is simply that. Royal Stilton pairs best with the classics: steak, port, and dried fruit.
As part of my annual Winter Solstice fete I offered my guests a generous 2 lb. wedge. I should have set some aside to dress a filet on Christmas. Maybe next year.

Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
This is by far the king of blue cheese. [...] It is important to let the Stilton to warm to room temperature before eating. The full flavor and smell makes this cheese the best. A slice melted over steak is a must. Sliced with fruit and a really good Port Wine does not get any better.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
OK stilton but not the best I have had.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Royal Stilton is what I consider to be the classic veined cheese. The flavor is powerful but not overwhelming; creamy but not gooey;. and a great appetizer or dessert cheese. I prefer it with fruit: Crisp D'anjou Pears or Fuji Apples sliced thin and served fresh. Use your Stilton within a week or so of its arrival, as the cut pieces lose flavor and texture quickly once unwrapped. Quality can be extended with careful wrapping but avoid any moisture buildup as it ruins the cheese quickly.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Did not serve a port with this, used grapes instead. Sweetness of grape contrasted perfectly with the rich flavor of the Stilton. Very rich, tangy cheese with a perfect creamy texture. Would order again.
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
We use the Stilton cheese as an adjunct to fresh pears. The combination (especially the English Stilton) is fabulous
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST IN BLUE CHEESE YOU CAN BUY.

Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
The Royal Blue Stilton is just not tasting good to us. We bought one for us and one to give to a friend but we don't think we'll give the friend one if we don't like it! It seems almost over-ripe but maybe it's just our taste buds. We usually love blue cheese of any kind. [...]
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
This cheese is always of the highest quality and has some of the best flavor characteristics of any blue cheese that I have tried. It is quite comparable to Butlers Blacksticks Blue but in my opinion is the PERFECT blue for blue cheese enthusiasts.

Great Stilton, wonderful flavor and amazing texture a must for the Stilton Lover.

I found this "Blue" not as sharp as some others I have eaten in the past. But still quite, quite good. Very well packaged.

This is one of the top five cheeses for my husband! He loves its texture, distribution of the veins and above all the taste.

As the name states, "Royal" certainly applies.
We had this with a 1983 Vintage Port which was a perfect combination. Great

Good Stilton; could have a little more veining for that 'musty' flavor
Comments about Royal Blue Stilton:
Best example of stilton I've had, good chunk, mixed with butter on grilled steak, good with heavy cream as a sauce, excellent on salads

This is without a doubt, a world class cheese! I have told all my friends and family they MUST order this cheese! Serve with a nice port and a plain cracker and you'll be in heaven! One of the BEST cheeses I've ever had !

This cheese was just the "treat" I had remembered it to be, a little wine, some fruit, and Stilton. Made for a memory that was totally unplanned.
