We have enjoyed Pierre Robert in the past. This time however it was overripe and bitter. [...] I think I will stick with the Brillat Savarin from our local cheese shop.
Comments about Pierre Robert:
Upon first receipt, the Pierre Robert was overripe.[...]Needless to say the Pierre Robert was a disappointment. The complexity of the cheese was lacking and once it heads to overripeness it becomes unbearable. I would not recommend taking a chance on this cheese. For this type of cheese, stick with the Camambert, Pave d'Affinois, or Coulommier or treat yourself to an Epoisses or Affidelice. Cheers.

Wonderfull flavor, spreads easily without sticking to spreader. Rind is edible with no bitterness

This is the Bentley of brie. Once you've had this you cannot go back to your standard "President", if you know what I mean. Just try it!

terrific cheese to serve for company with wine.

This triple-creme is addictive! I cannot wait til the next order arrives.
It goes so fast that ideas for uses other than snacking don't get a chance to be tried.

Don't miss this one. Weather it is after a meal or just with your favorite wine.
It will be the talk of the plate.

Have this cheese alone... it is so good it makes other good cheeses look bad... it is great

[...]we opted to try this wonderful cheese as a substitute and were not disappointed. In addition to pairing with wine for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, it goes well on a Sunday morning when you'd rather have champagne, dried fruit and cheese instead of cooking. We never got around to trying it with salads, etc as it DISAPPEARED QUICKLY!
Comments about Pierre Robert:
Found that this works best as an after dinner/pre-bed snack, served with a nice wheat cracker and glass of port.

My wife and I love this cheese spread on toasted artisan bread. Make sure you don't get any rind!

This is indeed an incredible cheese. One of the best I've had in the US. Try to pick some up whenever you can. It has a nice nose and a wonderful, buttery flavor. The aftertaste is very nice, too.
