Located in: Cheese, France
We always welcome the arrival of Autumn because it heralds the start of the Brie season. The most prized and celebrated of all French cheeses, Brie is believed to have been created prior to the Eighth Century. Charlemagne's chronicler, Eginhard de Saint Gall, reported that the Emperor enjoyed it at the Priory of Rueil in the town of Brie in the year 774. In 1815, the Prince de Tallyrand named Brie "Le Roi de Fromages" - The King of Cheeses. Each of our French Bries is shipped uncut. Enjoy it with a glass of champagne!
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.

Comments about Brie - 2 pound:

Let me see...
I had it sliced and over a turkey-onion melt - unbeatable.
I tried it over every type of table and water cracker I could get my hands on, including those of pan-asian orign - delicious.
I had it all by itself and with a nice moscato. There were no words.
It was so good infact, that I called a girlfriend over because I had to have someone to share in the goodness with me.
Definitely something I'll be purchasing again and again.
This was a wonderful brie with a mild rind, a complete lack of ammonia (not something I go for particularly) and a rich yet very simplistic taste.

Comments about Brie - 2 pound:

This is my favorite cheese. It is just wonderful melted on toasted French bread, then floated on your favorite soup. The toast with cheese is good eaten by itself, or before or with a meal. This Brie is very good with fruit as a snack or after a meal. I especially like it with apples.

Comments about Brie - 2 pound:

After wasting a lot of time and who-knows-how-much money, not to mention some fairly disgusting taste-tests, we swore off trying to buy good brie locally. Then we found igourmet. This cheese has already become a family gathering staple. Even the smaller grandchildren like it. We serve it room-temperature as an hors d'oeuvre with sliced baguette, tiny toasts, and low-carb tortillas. We have several recipes that call for brie we'd like to try, but there's never any left!

Was so very pleased with this Brie cheese. It was lucious. Smooth and creamy. We ate it on crackers and fruit while cooking dinner and it was just perfect. We have purchased some locally in wedges and there was really no comparison. The Igourmet Brie cheese was far and away better. Am anxious to melt it on toast.

Comments about Brie - 2 pound:

I just ordered this cheese two days ago for the first time, and I have to say that it arrived in perfect condition and ready to eat. It tastes really great, and is very creamy. I have tried different Brie's before, but this one is one of the best I've tried so far. To really enjoy a Brie you just need it to lie around a little, so it gets room temperature. It will almost melt by itself. The price is very fair for this great cheese. I will keep ordering this one together with all the other great cheeses I order monthly from igourmet.

iGourmet's brie was featured at my annual Winter Solstice Fete. I loved the high profile size of this two-pounder. It looked commanding but approachable. I offered plenty of fruit (fresh and dried) and carbs to counter the lush richness of this outstanding brie.

I purchased two. Both arrived in excellent condition. Both were exceptional and devoured in short order! Excellent cheese for a very fair price.

Comments about Brie - 2 pound:

Brie can vary widely. I love sampling it during frequent travels in France--but every Brie is different. The first order from iGourmet (received in February) was everything I'd hoped for: creamy, soft, rich, delicate. The second order (March) was underripe, and even after 2 weeks of aging (and days outside the refrigerator), never reached the great quality of the first. Recommended with reservations.

The cheese was great, but larger than expected. I took 1/3 to work one evening. Everyone loved it. I gave 1/3 to a friend for a party and I relished the last 1/3. The brie was really creamy and mild for those who do not like heavy cheese tastes. I will buy it again and share it.
