Located in: Cheese, France
This authentic AOC French butter contains crunchy sea-salt crystals collected by hand from Ile de Ré. Milk is collected daily in Charentes-Poitou. The cream is then matured for 18 hours, with a slow churning process in little batches. It won the Gold medal at Concours Général Agricole de Paris.

My wife and I love Paris, especially the butter. It has a distinct taste all its own which is unique to France. My idea of heaven is buying croissants from Paul's in Saint Germain du Pres sitting at a table outside, amply spreading on butter to a warm croissant and drinking a nice Bordeaux. It is Nirvana (and I don't mean the band).

I had butter like this in Paris about 4 years ago and have been unable to find it here in the US till now. There is nothing like a creamy sweet french butter with crunchy sea salt on a great piece of bread!

This product is so special! It differs from some European butters by the extra salt added. This is what I like about it! It is well worth splurging & using this nice product on good breads & special dishes.

Comments about La Baratte des Gourmets:

While I used it for toasted bread and other daily uses for butter, I found it superb melted for crab legs and lobster. It seemed to be almost "clarified" as is. The salt added to it was perfect. Very good high quality product at a reasonable price.
