JUST LIKE IN BEBRA, DEUTCHLAND
Comments about German Tilsit:
was really disappointed to get the end slice with full wax coating all but one surface. It was much harder than I expected and drier in texture...even at room temperature. also stronger in flavor than any tilsiter I ever tried.
Comments about German Tilsit:
I couldn't bring myself to eat this. It smelled like, no offense, human fecal matter. There is no way you could pay me to eat it, it was so smelly I had to double bag it to throw it away, it gagged us!!
Comments about German Tilsit:
Europeans love strong flavorful cheeses. Excellent on Rye or Sourdough bread and toasted.

Comments about German Tilsit:
I ate it by itself and cooked it with chicken. It smelled really bad and tasted the same. Would not recommend. Very smelly and chalky!

ALREADY SOME GIVEN ABOVE. I AM FAMILIAR WITH TILSIT BUT THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST I HAVE FOUND - EVEN IN GERMANY!

Comments about German Tilsit:
Alone, the smell of this cheese was just too overpowering for us. When combined with olive oil and garlic and schmeared on a hunk of bread, it was delicious though. The cheese has a great creamy texture.
Comments about German Tilsit:
tasty, lots of flavor
Comments about German Tilsit:
This is a lovely tasting cheese, not too strong, but with its own distinctive taste. It goes with many foods, particularly as other reviewers have mentioned, assertive breads and pickles. It is also good on a simple cracker. I like this tilsit better than the other tilsits Igourmet carries.
Comments about German Tilsit:
Once you taste this delicious cheese you immediately forget it's strong smell. This is best with fresh baked German Rye and sour pickles. You must refrigerate this cheese before serving otherwise it becomes to "creamy". I have also tried the Russian Tilsit, but definitely prefer this German one
Comments about German Tilsit:
Shave this as thinly as possible and enjoy with a crisp unflavored cracker...you do not want any other flavor competing with it!
Comments about German Tilsit:
I introduced the cheese to my friends and family at a German party. A few were a little timid about a new cheese, but all enjoyed the flavor.
Comments about German Tilsit:
This product is very good with sweet pickles, red sweet bell peppers and fruits.
I like it in the morning with a toasted english muffin or German Rye bread.
