Located in: Cheese, Germany
This tangy, crumbly blue cheese is produced in Bavaria's Alpine countryside. German cheesemakers have spent centuries taming the inherent sharpness of the original blue-veined cheeses, passing their time-tested methods down from generation to generation. The result is an incredibly smooth, mellow white cheese with distinct blue veins. Paladin does crumble, but has enough moisture to slice as well. Take it along with you on a picnic, or add it to your favorite green salad.

Comments about Paladin Bavarian Blue:

This is our absolute favorite blue in the world. Its uniquely firm, clingy, slice-able texture is a true pleasure and the creamy, delicious blue flavor is everything we look for in a blue cheese.

I particularly like this cheese accompanied with fruit and crackers, either for dessert or as an hors d'oeuvre. I don't like to overcomplicate it with too many ingredients, so I haven't been putting it in salads, but it is also delicious thinly sliced and slightly warmed on a fresh slice of bread.

Comments about Paladin Bavarian Blue:

We have tried this cheese previously for the first time. Needless to say we enjoyed it very much and came back a second time. We base all of our blue cheese experiences using the three 'royal' blues as a guidline. This cheese is perfect on cheeses biscuits with a nice Merlot and is extremely "moreish", it is extremely smooth and a very worthy blue cheese to add to the arsenal.

Comments about Paladin Bavarian Blue:

This was a little TOO mellow for my tastes. The description is spot-on, though. The sharpness has definitely been tamed! I did enjoy it in salads, but I missed the sharpness of my favorite blues. This would be a good cheese for someone who likes a more mellow taste.

Blue cheese as lovely as this Bavarian is not at our grocery stores. This one is creamy and tamed down compared to other blues. I wanted to save some for salads later but everyone ate this in a flash as soon as it arrived.

Comments about Paladin Bavarian Blue:

With each order we make sure that we try a cheese that is new to us along with our banker cheeses. This cheese came as a surprise, very mellow and creamy without being as strong as a Stilton or Gorgonzola, which are our favourite cheeses. I would certainly recommend this cheese with a few crackers mid afternoon, maybe with a glass of wine, and we will certainly be purchasing this cheese again.

Use it any time either lunch or pre-dinner. It is creamy, firm, tasty but not too strong. There is nothing that isn't great about it. I would order it again.
