In 1998 The Innstolz cheese company celebrated its 100th anniversary. Under the leadership of the 4th generation of the Roiner family, Innstolz is still family-owned and operated. Johann Roiner cultivated his dairy and cheese farm in 1898 in Rottal, a picturesque village in Lower Bavaria. Today Innstolz is a medium-sized cheese-crafter, renowned for its superb quality and attention to detail.

Barossa is Johann Roiner's original 1898 recipe, which specifies natural maturing in the mild climate of the Rottal region. You will immediately notice the mastery of Barossa. Its red cultures lend an incomparably spicy flavor and singular taste to this cheese. Each aromatic wheel of Barossa is a unique work of art, made only from premium quality whole milk from Rottal.

Best cheese so far! First time trying!!
By Chris the sandwich makerVerified Reviewer from Dunkirk, Md. on 2/22/2007
Pros:
Durable, Good Value, High Quality, Perfectly strong
Best Uses:
On German Rye bread
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have always purchased German Tilsit or Esrom.
This Barossa is better than both of them. We love
a tangy, strong smelling cheese. This fits the
bill.
