As its name suggests, Butterkäse has a buttery taste and a creamy texture that melts in your mouth. Produced in Germany, this one month aged, semi soft cow's milk cheese is a great partner to a refreshing pint of lager and can stand up to a pint of ale. Butterkase has a pungent flavor which makes it a perfect table cheese. Its creamy texture lends itself to melting on burgers and chicken. Try it melted on a baked potato. It's a great alternative to butter and sour cream!

Some wines will overpower this cheese on its own, but melted or on a sandwich, it is fantastic. Subtle flavor but very pleasant.

EVERYONE in my family absolutely loved this cheese. It is delicious, simple and creamy. It's great on sandwiches, especially hot ones, or as a late night snack with an apple. The kids liked it all by itself. Delicious, delicious, delicious.

I accidently found your cheese in the cheese section of the store I shop in. Anything I looked at was not pleasing. I selected Butterkase, took it home, cut off a chunk and what a great surprise to the taste buds. I love it as a side with fruit, pretzels and other snacks. Thanks for the great job.

Thin Slice on a wheat or plain cracker or...slice off a chunk with your pocket knife and enjoy with a slice of apple (sliced with the same pocket knife)...we're West Texans, you know.

This is a cheese variety I was familiar with and chose it in hopes that it was "as good as I remembered" and it was! Delicious mild German variety that is really a great stand-alone - I enjoy it sans cracker, bread or any other taste that would get in the way of its smoothness.

The taste is almost like a French Brie and the texture is like an Italian Provolone.

How it can be eaten:
Plain, on Bread And Butter, in a Ham & Egg Omelet and but best of all, with butter, rolled up inside Norwegian Lefse.
