Located in: Cheese, Holland
Bearing the symbol of the town of Leyden - two crossed keys - this newly available Farmhouse Leyden is richer and prettier than our mainstream Leyden that has been satisfying customers for many years. Like regular Leyden, this special Dutch treat is a tasty cheese studded with cumin seeds. However this Farmhouse variety is encased in a ruby red parrafin rind and seems to have a slightly higher fat content, giving the cheese a richer flavor and creamier texture. Enjoy Farmhouse Leyden with Heineken, a great beer from Holland.

I prefer the traditional Leyden, this was too soft and not enough spices with a weaker flavor profile than ai expect from Leyden

Great addition for a wine and cheese. The flavor could be good with a dark beer. Pairs nicely with ham. Good crumbled over chili.

Everyone loved this cheese. The cumin really adds a special flavor. It would be good for grating and putting into foods. Our didn't last long enough to try anything else with it. One day we opened it, two days later it was gone!

Growing up in So CA, we found Leyden at holiday times - now I can only find it with [...] - none in Arkansas!! It has the favorite cumin taste, farmhouse is creamier than regular Leyden but still as good! Brings me back to times with my dad when we found special foods that we loved!

I slice this cheese and eat a few pieces in the evening as a snack. I love the tiny frequent bursts of cumin among the rich and slightly musky cheese. Fantastic!
