Beemster Classic, aged for 18 months on traditional wooden boards, is crafted using century old artisan techniques. Its recipe remains a closely guarded secret that was first created in 1901 and has been handed down from generation to generation. We can tell you that Beemster cheeses have 20% less salt than other Dutch varieties, and that each wheel is turned and polished with love and care throughout the aging process.
This special offer consists of a 6 lb. wedge of Beemster Classic paired with a Beemster-branded Dutch Two-Handled Knife. The cheese is great. I have been getting aged gouda for years and actually lived in the Netherlands for a few years. This is the real deal. The knife is excellent for cheese as well as other large items. I used it to expertly cut a whole watermelon without a hitch.

The taste of the cheese is very rich and strong. Excellent for putting on your sandwich or drink it with a nice merlot wine. And if you like entertaining people, cut little blocks and put an pickle on top,some ham or an sweet onion.

We love this cheese and usually order the six pound wedges. We never have less than a couple of pounds in the fridge at any one time. It keeps extremely well. I have more of those knives than I know what to do with.
