The Dutch Masterpiece is here at last! Made in Holland from local pasteurized cow's milk and imported Italian cultures, gold medal winner Old Amsterdam tastes like a young Parmigiano-Reggiano crossed with an Aged Dutch Gouda. It is well-known for its rich, nutty, robust flavor and firm texture; both the result of it being perfectly matured for over twelve months. Excellent in salads, shredded over soups or chili, and on sandwiches, hot or cold. Old Amsterdam is perfect with a glass of fine wine or port.

Comments about Old Amsterdam:

This is a great product, I traveled to Amsterdam last year and spent a lot of money on this cheese, it is the authentic Amsterdam thing.

Try it on cheese on toast:
Put a piece of bread in the brolier and toast lightly, then place the cheese on top, melt and enjoy.

Break pieces off with a knife and eat cold out of the fridge.

The only thing that is not so good about this cheese is that it does not last long, BUY MORE THAN ONE!!!

Generally use this cheese on a board with other cheeses and mousse truffle pate. Best served in my mind with fresh french bagette. Love when the cheese has a bit of a crunch. Very sweet, creamy and full of flavor.

Comments about Old Amsterdam:

I first has this cheese at a wine tasting. It was so good I had to have some for my home. With a red it is outstanding!! I think of that line, "a loaf of bread, a jug of wine, [THIS CHEESE,]& thou..." is very appropriate for Old Amsterdam. Full & tasty, a morsel fills your mouth with flavor! Thank you thank you!!

Comments about Old Amsterdam:

We discovered this cheese in a little grocery store in the heart of Amsterdam. Our group fell in love with it and we went back for more. Now we can get it from IGourmet, so we know just how good it really is.
