with crackers and a glass of red wine...!

We were making spaghetti for dinner, opened this cheese to have with wine while preparing, and while it is great with a robust red, oh my, it is so great over our rich, zesty meat sauce. If you like mild, bland spaghetti sauces this may be too much flavor, but for rich and zesty like we make it is wonderful and blends very harmoniously with the entire dish! Another one of those that seem to go quickly when in stock at igourment. Grab some when you can!

After being introduced to Parrano cheese at a wine event we ordered it at iGourmet. We couldn't find anything in our local stores that came close to what we bought here. We feel the current Parrano is a bit different than what we originally tried, softer and creamier, but it still has the flavor and the crystal crunch we enjoy. A recommendation at iGourmet was that we also try Parmigiano Reggiano which we order alternately - it's harder, more brittle and has more bite. But I love them both. I hate paying shipping fees - but so far it's worth it for the quality and taste.

This cheese is amazing on its own (with red wine). I did serve some wrapped in soppressata and everyone gobbled it up. Fantastic cheese!!!

Use a cheese planer for the thinnest slices and eat with simple "water biscuits" to enjoy the full flavor. Best with a good glass of wine!

Thi is one of the best tasting cheeses I have ever tasted, and my family is from Holland, so that say a lot. The marriage of the sharpness of parmesan and the richness of gouda is unreal!

We were introduced to Parrano at a Wine & Cheese event at a Texas winery. I loved the texture, the nuttiness, and the flavor - with several different types of wine. This is the second time I have ordered it - and it won't be the last!

a must try cheese for those who never tasted it.

This is one of my favorute snacking cheeses behind Spanish cheeses like Manchego & mahon. It is more interesting than traditional gouda, having a mild butterscoth flavor.

I was tempted to try this after reading the comparison to parmesan, which is my favorite of all cheeses. Sure enough, it fully lives up to its description and is a very tasty cheese that shouldn't turn anyone away. Highly recommended!

My wife and I attended a wine/cheese event at a Texas winery and one of the pairings had the Parrano cheese. I was so impressed by the taste and the texture that I ordered some for our special wine and cheese weekends at home. We found that the cheese has much more texture after it has been out for 30 minutes or so - but it was just as good at home as it was on our winery event.

If you love Parmigiano Reggiano then you will like Parrano. The description of this cheese is exactly right and it actually may be better than Parmigiano as an appetizer because of its texture. Highly recommended.

I enjoy trying a new cheese every week or so (my local Ralph's has a terrific new gourmet cheese section) I must say that I love this cheese - it has become a new favorite.
You describe it as as "Parmigiano Reggiano or Grana Padano, while maintaining the firm, smooth texture of a young Gouda" - all cheeses that I love - and I agree completely!
Superb - delicious - wow!
