If you LOVE Cumin...you'll LOVE this cheese! I cannot buy this anywhere else. I had it as part of a cheese platter at a restaurant in the mountains of NC. We bought this cheese for a cheese/wine pairing party. Very, very nice!

I have been looking for Leyden cheese for a long time. I love the flavor on toast with butter or a piece of rusk, with a cup of coffee. The cheese brings back memories of growing up.

Our annual Christmas treat, Only have two out our family of six are not addicted to this cheese. I like it best the way I ate it growing up, bakery bread with grape jelly and just the right amount of cheese.

A great cheese if you like spiced flavors! Can't get enough of this cheese!

I was searching for a Norwegian cheese: "Nokelost" and it was out of stock. The description of this cheese reminded me of Nokelost so I ordered it to try it. I was pleasantly surprised by the similarity in flavor and how easy it was to slice.

The thing which is unique with this cheese is the addition of whole toasted cumin seeds. The seeds add so much flavor to this that it is a treat with fruit, as a snack, or even in a sandwich with luncheon meats or just plain.
Another cheese of this variety is Nagelkaas which has whole cloves in it, which resemble nails. Also very tasty and a treat to anyone not familiar with the Dutch cheeses.

This is a cheese that you grew up on, if you are Dutch. Here in Wisconsin, the land of cheese, Leyden is impossible to find. I was delighted when I was able to order it through [...] Try it the way the Dutch eat it - dark, heavy rye bread with a little butter and the cheese right on top. Delicious. I would highly recommend this cheese to anyone, but especially the Dutch that are having difficulty finding Leyden in the states.

The addition of Cumin is SO unique - habit-forming, for me! Lends great flavor to a salad, when cubed.

Nice flavor by itself or with fruit or dutch toast.

I was quite pleased with the product and the flavor that it provided. I also found that it has multiple uses not only as a snack, but also grated over meals.

This cheese delivers exactly what it promises. The flavor of cumin is unmistakable. I've used this successfully on Chili and in Quesadillas. Can be eaten on it's own in moderation; the cumin really dominates the taste.

Very unique flavor, moderately strong. Like s strong, creamy gouda with the addition of the seeds flavors. A little goes a long way, but very satisfying. Caution: the more you eat, the more you like it!

A very tasty cheese that no one else in the house cared for. Thier loss my gain.

Delicious! I loved the cumin seeds, which made the flavor strong. Not a cheese that one could eat a whole lot of at once. Quite creamy. Unique flavor!

what a unbelievable flavor it is great making quesadillias
Comments about Leyden:
was alittle worried about it first but when I tasted it as I said I was addicted. I even made some quesadillias with it WOW
Comments about Leyden:
I wasn't sure what to expect with this cheese, but I'm very happy with it. It has a tangy taste, with a bit of a "bite" to it, almost like a really sharp aged cheddar but a little creamier. The addition of the cumin seeds is wonderful -- it gives it a bit of a "crunch" with a burst of flavor. Use a mild-flavored cracker with this one -- you really want the flavor of the cheese to stand out.

Very strange at first, but Leyden has grown
on me very much. It has become one of my favs.
Unlike any other cheese that I've had. The seeds really command the taste, if you like cumin you'll certainly love leyden.
