This is an excellent parmesan. It is superior to other parmesan cheeses in gourmet grocery stores, both for what you have to grate yourself and what is already grated by the store. We just thought that there is too much rind with this and you can't use all eight ounces because of it. This cheese is wonderful both as melted in a cream sauce and grated over spaghetti and other pasta dishes.

Our friend from Castello delle Regine winery in Umbria brought us some of this gorgeous cheese. I was thrilled to find it on igourmet. However, one disappointment I must voice is the fact that I'd have been delighted to buy the full, pictured wheel for my father's birthday, and was surprised when the cheese arrived in block form, a la Kraft. Full wheel option, please, for those of use who like to splurge on great cheese!

I believe this cheese is the standard by which other cheeses are measured. We have tried several of the Parmigiano Reggiano selections from iGourmet, and this is by far the best

I eat it by itself. Its OK, but a bit dry. There's better out there. I think the Parmigiano Reggiano Stravecchio sold here is much better.

This cheese is noticeably different. First off, the cheese seems more moist. Secondly, I have not tastes Parm like this in decades. No joke, this cheese is much tastier than regular reggiano, and the extra aging gives it a bit mroe kick. I gave some to my 80 year old father and he agreed, its a superior cheese!
