All of my family love this cheese, and I have served it at three different occasions, and all but one absolutely loved it, and asked for the name and place of where to get it. It has a very unique, and pleasant flavor. The one person who did not like it is one of those sorts who doesn't like anything but hamburgers and mac and cheese. Go figure.

This cheese is not always filled with many truffles, but this last shipment was. This cheese is nicknamed the crack c0caine of cheese on the internet, rightfully so. Once you try it, you will need to have it for all your special occasions.
DO NOT eat this with ANYTHING- only by itself and only room temperature.

I stole the title from an old description used by this site and find it still perfect for this cheese. Whether as an appetizer straight up or with crackers/bread, or turning the volume up on a tuna melt or in mac & cheese or a lasagna, my use of this cheese always brings smiles and sighs of satisfaction.

This cheese was absolutely wonderful in any dish, from roasted tomatoes with garlic and herbs to mashed potatoes. And, it makes the most amazing mac & cheese that you have ever tasted when mixed in with the other cheeses. It gives everything a wonderful rich flavor and you don't have to add very much. This cheese goes a long way and keeps very well so you can enjoy for weeks if you can stop yourself from snacking on it.

If you love truffles this cheese will take you away. It is truly the best truffle cheese I have tasted over the years and is worth the money. It is creamy and melts in your mouth while the truffle fragrance wafts up your nose. Just a small bit will make you feel like you are in Italy or France. It is perfect with a glass of wine and a bland cracker or biscuit. Try it! You will love it.

Pros:

Best Uses:
Hors d'oeuvre
Describe Yourself:

This young, salty whitish cheese has a smooth texture and thin shaving of black truffle moderately distributed throughout the block. More aging would probably benefit this cheese, to allow more time for the flavors to mingle and emerge. As it ships, however, it is a clean, slightly earthy, cheese that would be an excellent counterpoint to a light, juicy red wine, or even an acidic white.

igourmet Response: We offer an aged variety as well - see product number 1926

Divine
By AllisonVerified Reviewer from Broomfield, CO on 2/27/2007
Pros:
High Quality
Cons:
Expensive
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Outstanding! I love this cheese! The truffle flavor and fragrance really come through. When I open my storage container in the kitchen, the dog smells it from the living room and comes running. I don't mean to suggest that it's a stinky cheese, though -- it smells divine. The truffle flavor permeates the entire cheese: I don't taste it any more intensely in the truffle slices than in the rest of the cheese.

A precious cheese for a very special occasion or the most appreciative friends.

This is a must try for anyone who loves truffles. You will not be disappointed. It is also excellent on crackers. I does need to be consumed within a week or so - plan to eat up!

Excellent Cheese
By DaveVerified Reviewer from Midwest, U.S. on 2/22/2007
Pros:
Good Value, High Quality
Best Uses:
Cheese Tray, Grilled Cheese, Omelette, Pizza
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The cheese itself is an absolute delight. Worth every penny and should be paired with a good wine to get full effect. It melts easily and has a U.S. mozzarella texture but with an unique flavor. However, the little basket shown in the image didn't survive transport and was completely broken when it arrived. The cheese itself is a perfect five slice but the shoddy basket was a downside. Very minor complaint.
