Stravecchio Oro del Tempo is a superior, 22-month aged Grana Padano produced by Agriform near Venice. This masterpiece compares beautifully with its better-known cousin Parmigiano Reggiano. The flavor of Stravecchio is intense and complex, with fruity overtones that evoke pineapple or strawberry, depending on the season. Like all precious things, every Stravecchio cheese is one of a kind, and each wheel is branded with a unique serial number. Agriform tests the quality of each wheel of Stravecchio every week until the twentieth month of aging. The end result of this rigorous testing process is that only the cheeses that deserve to become prime Grana Padano Stravecchio are stamped with the certificate of origin and guarantee.

This is a great cheese to cook or snack with.I enjoy it and Parmigiano Reggiano and can't pick a favorite between the 2.Just when i taste one,then taste the other,i enjoy them both.The Grana Padano is a little milder or not quite as sharp as the Parmigiano Reggiano.I say have both on hand if you really like this type of cheese.

I first tasted this in Sicily, where it is used more often than Parm. Reggiano and is at least as good. Chunked and drizzled with aged balsamic or honey, grated on pasta or salad, or put a big slab on a cheese board--it's all good. Get the pound cut--it won't last long enough.

This is - hands down - THE best-tasting cheese I've ever had. I loved the complexity; there was a subtle fruitiness that hinted at sweetness but didn't overpower your taste buds.

I received the Stravecchio as a gift as part of the Italian Premier Gift Basket. When it ran out, I ordered 2 pounds because I just had to have more.

I will definitely order more of this in the future. I highly recommend it - it's fantastic as a gift but even better if you order it for yourself.

For optimum enjoyment: on a beautiful day, open the windows to let the cool air in, sink into your favorite chair, have a nice chilled glass of white wine next to you (something clean and crisp), and have a few slices of the Stravecchio. Few things in life get better than that.

This is a wonderful cheese! I think its better than almost all Parmigiano Reggianos I've tried, with the exception of Parmigiano Reggiano Stravecchio which is a little better, but but not by much, and they are VERY similar-there is clearly a family resemblance. I highly recommend this cheese-its also a bargain.

I purchased this cheese looking for something similar to Parmigiano Reggiano, which is my most favorite cheese. What I got was something that is as good if not better. This wonderful hard cheese starts out with a superior tart and tangy flavor similar to parmigiano and then tapers off into a slightly sweet and fruity after taste. It is one of the most complex flavored cheeses I have tried to date. It is wonderful stuff. I preferred to eat just small pieces of the cheese by itself since I like to enjoy the flavor of the cheese without it having to compete against any other flavors. Awesome Cheese.
