Malbec is a traditional "Bordeaux varietal" originating in the Southwest of France. The red variety has experienced the best adaption to Argentinian soil, providing exceptional wines; in fact, some of the best Malbec specimens in the world. The grape is a midsummer ripener, very deep in color and has a plum-like flavor component to it. We have often enjoyed La Capilla paired with a good Malbec. Now, with its Malbec wine rind, two great flavors are combined, adding complexity to an already sophisticated cheese.
my husband brought back a taste for malbec from Argentina several years ago - now we can combine two of our favorites malbec and cheese!
