(based on 8 ratings)
Located in: Cheese, Spain
This special Manchego is aged for over 12 months, giving it a sharper, nuttier flavor and a firmer, more brittle texture than its younger namesake. It is produced in Central Spain's La Mancha region; a territory known for its fierce winds, violent temperature swings, and desert-like aridity. Manchego Reserve is made using traditional methods under strict quality guidelines. We especially love this cheese served with Rioja wine and fresh fruit.
  • Made from pasteurized sheep's milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 7 lb. form of cheese.
  • We cut and wrap this item by the 1/2 pound.
  • Please contact us if you would like to purchase the whole form.

I have had Manchego before-sometimes its good & othertimes it is ok-with the strong sheep milk taste coming thru. However, this product from igourmet was very good-it retained its strong, firm taste, but without the overpowering sheep milk nuances.

I am a big fan of 'regular' Manchego, and the reserve didn't dissapoint. A bit stronger but not overpowering. I'll buy it again.

I first tasted Manchego Cheese in Spain 14 months ago. It was love at first bite! The wedge I brought home barely made it past the 24 hour mark from the time I arrived back in the States. All of my family has also fallen in love with it - especially the Manchego from I Gourmet. It tastes like it came directly from Spain, not the local grocery store.

I _love_ Manchego. So it was very disappointing to get this cheese. It not only lacks flavor - it also had a very off, bitter finish. Very disappointing.

Comments about Manchego Reserve (Extra Aged):

[...] featured many cheeses at the EPCOT food and wine extravaganza in Orlando last month. In the midst of sea of fine wine and food pairings, I ended up going back again and again for just one more bite of this fine cheese. Fabulous with a little fruit jam. Too good to mess with cooking--just eat it as is. Yum!

Comments about Manchego Reserve (Extra Aged):

I first ate Machego Cheese in Spain last fall. The wheel I brought back with me barely lasted 24 hours after I returned home. Everyone in my family loved it! In the six months since I've returned from Spain, I've bought 2-2 pound packages [...] and it virtually disappears as fast as I put it out for my guests.
