VODCheese is a unique cheese brought to the U.S. by Ulla Nylin, a native of Falköping in Västergötland. Raised in Sweden's dairy capital, Ulla has used her knowledge of Swedish taste traditions and created an award winning cheese that combines two of Sweden's most successful tastes - Absolut Vodka and 12-month aged Prästost. VODCheese is a mildly sharp, semi-soft cheese, making it ideal to serve on its own with unsalted crackers, or as part of a cheese tray. Alternatively, with its flavorful overtones, you could surprise your guests and serve it as a dessert cheese. Great with a crisp chardonnay! Varieties sold separately.

Comments about VODCheese:
Vodka Currant: This is a really unusual cheese; it's hard to know what to compare it to. It is dense, moist, and extremely flavorful. The vodka currant flavor is only an aftertaste, though. The dominant flavor is almost like Gorgonzola, though this is not a blue cheese. Despite having a currant aftertaste, there is no sweetness here. It's nothing like the sweet fruited white stiltons.
If you're bored with everything else, or if you want to try something very different, go ahead. If you're just starting to branch out though, look elsewhere. I think the pungency of this cheese will make it unappealing to many, but Gorgonzola lovers would probably like it.
