A smooth, slightly yellow cheese with more tang than mild Queso Quesadilla cheese, Asadero is ideal for baking because its strong, rich flavor adds to the appeal of baked dishes. Asadero is also excellent for quesadillas and tacos because it melts nicely without separating oils.

Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
Whole form is 5 lbs.

The cheese was great. Only thing was I ordered two 8 ounce packs and one was not sealed. It was open when it arrived. But the one that was sealed has been great. I have been eating at a Mexican restraunt and I finaly found out that they use this cheese on the tacos and other foods they serve.. It melts smooth and evenly..

This cheese is the perfect offering for cocktails with friends-tangy yet creamy, nutty yet buttery, with a delightful, firm texture. I served it sucessfully to a group that was drinking wine, beer and Sangria!

Well, maybe I just don't understand this cheese. I prefer hard cheese and this is quite soft. That's okay...soft can be good too. For instance many blue cheeses are soft. But for me all I really noticed was a salty and not too "cheesy" a taste.

A lovely cheese - perfect to melt. Only negative was it was a bit oily when baked. Can't buy it in the stores locally and love that I can get it [...]!!
