Made in Monroe, Wisconsin, Beer Kaese is a robust, American classic with a German/Swiss pedigree. Containing no beer, this cheese was registered in 1933 as a celebratory salute to the repeal of Prohibition, hence the name “Beer” Kaese. The unique flavor of Beer Kaese comes from aging. It is shelf-cured, resulting in a golden yellow rind. Beer Kaese has an earthy, slightly tangy, full-bodied flavor which makes it an excellent pairing with rye or pumpernickel bread and a slice of onion with a glass of red wine or, preferably, beer. Alternatively, try this cheese served for dessert with a glass of port.

Suitable for vegetarians.

I have been eating this cheese for 35 years. My grandmother used to stock it in her home whenever we kids came to visit. A good hearty pumpernickel, a thin slice of vidalia onion and some salt makes a delicious sandwich. My sister and I crave this cheese, our husbands hate us for it. Wear gloves while cutting it and forget about going out in public for a day or two, the smell will follow you. I would only recommend this to a very brave friend.

I will continue to buy this product.

I was excited to see a cheese to go with beer. I opened the package on 'ladies night' at my house and immediatley everyone gagged. We couldn't even taste it. Luckily my boyfriends mother loves cheese that smells repulsive. So I gave it to her and she has requested more.

One of the more flavorful cheeses. Robust and great as a snack along with a good ale. I love it right along with the Danish Tilsit.

We have always loved Beer Kaese, and it is becoming increasing hard to find. This is a very good one! However, Beer Kaese is not for the faint at heart.
