Although this version of gouda from Uruguay is not as complex as its aged Dutch relatives, it has nevertheless amassed a legion of fans for its mild, tangy, milky flavor and silky texture. Compared to Dutch gouda, it is lighter in color and slightly firmer, but with the same exquisite melting quality. Holland Mill gouda from Uruguay can be used for similar applications as other young goudas—as a table cheese with fruit, melted on sandwiches, as a pizza topping or as a creamy addition to hot dishes and appetizers. For a simple and delicious lunch, make a wheat pannini with this gouda, roasted red peppers, and a few thin slices of cured speck.

Wish that iGourmet could keep this cheese in stock! We hate it when we run out. It's everything a cheese should be. My spouse and I make a divine evening meal out of Holland Mill Uruguda, Atalanta Blue, apple slices, Chutney for Cheese, salami, Las Cruces pecans, and wine.

My first experience with cheese from Uruguay and I loved it and will order it again.

It is rich and creamy and tangy and extra good on a grilled cheeseburger.

Otherwise everyone liked it plain from the cheese board.

Super smooth yet easy to cut into slices.Extremely buttery taste and texture reminds of a swiss only sweeter.I'm certain most kids would gobble this up.Very yummy!

Got this as part of the Box of 8 cheeses, and did not have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised, this is an enjoyable mild cheese and makes a great sandwich.
