This summer, enjoy the beautiful weather with friends while sharing a few of your favorite cocktails over a plate of classic French fromage! Comprised of four imported Frence cheeses, this collection captures the abundant variety of flavors, textures, colors and aromas that characterize the “taste of place,” or terroir, unique to each region. This assortment includes:
  • Buche de Chevre: This wonderful goat's milk cheese from Poitou in the Loire Valley. Each Buche de Chevre is aged for two months, during which time it develops a hard, edible crust complete with a bloomy white mold coating. It is sharp and tangy near the rind and gets progressively richer and creamier toward the center. (8 oz.)
  • Gruyere de Comte Black Label Reserve: Made near France's border with Switzerland, using the same recipe as Swiss Gruyere. This satiny smooth, ivory-colored hard cheese has a fruity flavor with the characteristic Swiss bite. Aged for 12 months. (8 oz.)
  • Fourme d'Ambert AOC: This AOC (name controlled) creamy blue cheese is a lovely French treasure. Fourme d'Ambert is cave-aged for a minimum of two months, made from raw cow's milk and has a tremendous, creamy, full-bodied flavor. (8 oz)
  • Chaource: Made in a town with the same name since the early 14th century, Chaource is the most famous artisanal cheese from the Champagne region of France. This decadent cheese is delicious at any stage of ripeness and has a slight mushroom scent with a rich, creamy flavor. (8 oz)
  • igourmet.com Signature Cheese Serving Knife: Specifically crafted for igourmet.com, this multi-function cheese knife is the perfect tool to easily slice uniform servings of your favorite cheese.

Comments about French Cocktail Hour Four Cheese Assortment with Knife:

The French Cheese Selection is perfect to use as a Cheese selection after dinner with a good port and fruit. It was perfect too for Hors d'oeuvre with a Pate and crudities.
