Legend has it the first Panettone, a sweet yeast bread, was made in Milan in the 15th Century. It has become a traditional treat at holiday times.

La Forneria was born from a very strong experience in the bread making process of Mr Salvatore Murgia and his family. With his great experience, he decided to produce Sardinian specialities from the Italian tradition such as Panettone and Colomba, previously distributed in Sardinia only by big Italian firms. These sweets became immediately so successful, thanks to their freshness and ingredients, that in 1991, Mr Murgia expanded his little workshop and created “La Forneria”. We offer La Forneria's Panettone with candied fruit and sultanas inside the cake and almonds and hazelnuts in the icing..

  • Please note this is a seasonal item and is only available during the winter holiday.

Slicing this Pannettone is quite messy due to the sugar beads on top that end up all over, but it is worth the mess.

Comments about Panettone by La Forneria:

This panetone is a wonderful product. It is extremely tasty. It is light. It is fine as a breakfat bread; as a desert cake or as a snack. Have it toasted with butter or jam. Have it with ice cream. Have it just as it is.
The panetone is easy to keep. And it will stay fresh for a very long time. We have made this a part of our normal hosehold supply.
Naturally, I would not disagree with a reduction of the price. But I would not say that the cost is out of line with the product.
