Gosling's Island Indulgence Cakes draw their inspiration from some of Bermuda's favorite cocktails using only the freshest ingredients and barrel-aged Black Seal Rum® to create these delicious, premium cakes that are as exceptional as they are indulgent.

The history of Black Seal Rum® and the Gosling family began long ago. In the spring of 1806 James Gosling, the oldest son of William Gosling, a wine and spirits merchant, set out from England on the ship, Mercury, with £10,000 of merchandise, bound for America. After ninety-one desperate days on a becalmed sea their charter ran out, and they put in at the nearest port, St. Georges's, Bermuda. Rather than pressing for America, James opened a shop on the King's Parade, St. George's in December 1806. In 1824 James returned to England and his brother Ambrose rented a shop on Front Street in the new Capitol of Hamilton for £25 a year. The Goslings have maintained a store at this location for 127 years recently adding gourmet rum desserts to its offerings.

igourmet is happy to offer three varieties of the Gosling's tempting rum cakes: Bermuda Rum Swizzle Cake is the country's favorite Black Seal cocktail transformed into a scrumptious cake; CocoRumba Double Chocolate Cake is a rich-as-royalty rum cake - a chocolate lover's dream come true; and Dark ‘N Stormy Island Spice Cake is like a Dark ‘N Stormy cocktail --- bursting with ginger, island spices and Black Seal Rum®.

You now can have your cake…and your rum, too!

Comments about Gosling's Gourmet Island Indulgence Cakes:

Been a fan of the rum for a long time, so treated ourselves to a couple of these little treats. They are small, but perfect for a little dessert for two, and with the richness a little goes a long way.

I've had other cakes like this and really enjoyed their indulgent quality. This one was a little dried out and not worth the money.

Comments about Gosling's Gourmet Island Indulgence Cakes:

Not the best rum cake ever, but still very good. Note that the 4 oz. size is REALLY small - good if you've got a taste for some cake but don't want to eat a whole one.
