A deliciously decadent alcoholic treat by Fabbri in Italy. Babas are tiny, traditional sponge cakes made from wheat flour, butter, eggs, sugar, honey and salt. These are then soaked in a rum enhanced syrup for that treasured flavor. Fabbri have been around since 1905 and it's easy to see why, with quality products such as this. Try serving with whipped cream and fruit or, if no-one is watching, whip one straight from the jar.

Comments about Fabbri Baba in Rhum:

Well, this was certainly different. Just popping one in your mouth as suggested in the product description may be overpowering for some people. On the other hand, that alcohol kick made it both unique and special, and it smells wonderful. I would buy it again, mostly as an interesting and exotic conversation piece to serve along with other more conventional desserts.

Comments about Fabbri Baba in Rhum:

could buy this off the shelf about 20 years ago, no more of that! The babas are not tiny but small.

This product is just as I remembered although not
the same jar size -- this was at least a 1/4 smaller.

It is quite pricey and would hardly recommend as
a staple in the pantry. Luxury item worth it once
in a great while for me, anyway!
