Torrone is a confectionery tradition on the Italian island of Sardinia. It is present at all festivities and occasions and is enjoyed by all - young and old. The production of torrone in Barbagia (and in particular Aritzo) takes advantage of the surrounding nature: green mountains which house flowers that produce wonderfully flavorful honey - the key ingredient in torrone. Almonds and hazelnuts, two other essential ingredients, also grow in the region's deep valleys. This boxed assortment of torrone flavors made by Tiu Boele contains coffee, hazelnut and almond varieties. Contains 18 pieces.

The coffee and hazelnut flavors are my favorite. Classique is good too. The container that the torrone arrived in was not properly cooled, therefore when I opened them up they were a tad melty. Once I put them in the fridge, they firmed up again.

I loved the nuts in it and you can really taste the honey. I've never tasted anything quite like it. I couldn't really discern the differences in the three flavors, but it was yummy just the same.

My husband has been looking for these little candies for years! He was raised on these being an Italian and when he had his first piece it was like going home again! I tried them for the first time when we received them and couldn't believe how wonderfully light and not overly sweet they were. They are a great topper to any meal or sweet treat anytime of the day!!
