El Almendro of Madrid has been making quality Spanish desserts since 1883. Their fruit marzipan makes full use of one of Spain’s plentiful and delicious products – almonds.
When the Arabs entered Spain in the mid-700s, they were greeted to the Dark Ages of Europe. Within 200 years, the Moors had turned Spain into a bastion of commerce and beauty. By introducing irrigation systems, they turned the dry plains into fertile land. One of the delicacies they brought with them was the almond. As a result, they also introduced their dessert- making skills using almonds.
El Almendro has created an assortment of individually wrapped, bite sized marzipan morsels flavored with tangerine, cherry, and lime. Enjoy these traditional Spanish candies anytime of the day.
