Luis Lopez Echeto Sr. learned his chocolate-making skills in the family business "Confiteria La Suiza" (established in 1890). When Luis was a young man, he decided to immigrate to America. The ship made a stop that would change his life - it pulled into the Canary Islands. Luis Sr. fell in love and never left, bringing a new tradition of chocolate-making to the islands, using family secrets and crafting the finest products. Today, Luis Lopez Echeto, Jr. runs the business. He is responsible for their wonderful chocolate coated larguetas.

One of our favorite confections from Lopez Echeto is their Chocolate Covered Bananas. These naturally dried Canary Island bananas are sweet, tasty, delicious and moist. Take that perfect, simple banana and coat it with African dark chocolate and you have an incredible sweet snack. A new favorite at igourmet!

I was expecting more of a "ripe Banana" flavor behind the chocolate. The texture of the banana was also somewhat chalky. Nevertheless the product was very good.

I'd buy this again whenever I was after something very different and kind of exotic. Where it comes from is part of its appeal. The taste and texture took a few bites to get used to, but it grew on me.

I really enjoyed this candy. I love bananas and chocolate both separately and together. Really love chocolate covered frozen bananas. These candies are easier than frozen bananas to take on the road. I'm a flight attendant, and pulling out these babies on my layover while winding down after a harried or late arriving flight is a treat.

This is an exotic treat that 'a little goes a long way!' The chocolate is amazing in flavor and depth and the bananas add a bit of a surprise to the treat! I'm glad I tried this product!
