To produce this chocolate, Ovidias has reinvented the way Belgian chocolates are packaged. The patented solution consists of each chocolate being individually wrapped in a air-flushed pouch, then packed in an easy-to-open aluminum can. This system preserves freshness at color. I have had a can of these in my refrigerator for at least three years. I decided to open them up today, and, seriously, they are the best chocolates I have ever eaten! I cannot believe how fresh and delicious they are, even after being ignored for so long!
I have been on a mission all evening to find a source for these. iGourmet is where mine came from (as a freebie with some other order I had placed) but, alas, they are apparently no longer available... I am VERY DISTRESSED! I MUST find these!!! If I have to travel to Belgium for these heavenly chocolates, I will!

Ever since a Belgian friend introduced me to "real" Belgian chocolates, I'd been searching for something available in the U.S....and now I've found it! Each piece is smooth and full of flavor without being overly sweet; I pop one in my pack on winter hikes for a gourmet trail treat. These chocolates are EVIL! I will never order them again, because if I did I would just gorge myself on them, savoring each morsel of perfection as it slid around my tongue, coaxing me deeper and deeper into the abyss of taste nirvana, until I became a whale-like projection of my former self laying on the couch, at which time I would say: "Now that's good chocolate."

My sister brought me some Belgian chocolates after she came back from a business trip. They were unique and good yet still had the subdued flavor of off the shelf chocolates. These chocolates in a can though... they are fresh! Unlike that dull and flat taste that most foods which are frozen or sit on a shelf have these chocolates tasted as if they were just made. I gave some as gifts and enjoyed a few cans myself. They are pricey and the in-a-can presentation is not the most striking but they are certainly the best I've ever had. I highly recommend them as an indulgence for yourself and as a gift others will enjoy.

Bottom line, I feel these are the best chocolates that you can buy. The can says to keep refrigerated, but let the chocolates come to room temperature for the best flavor.

I've never had chocolates this good: aside from the superior not-too-sweet-or-creamy quality of the chocolate, the fillings are DIVINE. You can tell they're made with real cream - it's like an expensive restaurant dessert in a chocolate shell. It's not hard to restrain myself to one or two, because they're soooo rich. A must-try for anyone who likes chocolate.

Fresh, just-made taste, texture. Individual wrapping a plus. If you prefer more subtle, nuanced European-style chocolates, you will love these! I'm partial to dark chocolate, but even the white & milk pieces were not too sweet. A good value. I stored in the fridge, but best eaten at room temp.
