Ladyfingers are small, delicate sponge cakes that are shaped like large, rather fat fingers. Their light texture results from the small proportion of flour to sugar and the large number of eggs used in their production. The French call them cat's tongue cookies and sandwich them together with nougat. These little cakes are also soaked in liqueur to be used in Charlottes and cakes. Our crisp ladyfingers are imported from Italy, where their most famous usage is in Tiramisu, which means "pick me up" and is a sinfully rich dessert made of ladyfingers soaked in coffee, layered with a mascarpone/liqueur filling. Buy these with a tub of our Mascarpone Cream and try making tiramisu for yourself!

This package includes approximately 60 ladyfingers.

These are just wonderful and so versatile. You can use them for Tiramisu or serve them with coffee and a scoop of ice cream!!

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I actually ate an entire package in one day!

In making the Tiramisu, the first night of serving, the ladyfingers were much too hard and could not be sliced. On the second and third nights of serving, the fingers had soaked up the espresso and mascarpone and softened up quite nicely.

I used the ladyfingers in my first try at Tiramisu which I made for a Christmas dessert for my children. Needless to say the Tiramisu was a big hit and because of the size of the package of ladyfingers, I have plenty left to make another one soon.

No eggs - no alcohol - low fat & DELICIOUS

First, soften and mix 2 packages of cream cheese (I used one 1/3 less fat and one fat free)
Mix in 5 tablespoons of sugar.
Add 3 tablespoons of Davinci sugar free Kahlua flavored syrup and mix again.

Second,
Brew up 2 cups of good coffee (I used Douwe Egberts decaf) Coffee should be warm, not hot. Place coffee on plate for dipping.

Third,
Briefly dip lady fingers into coffee mixture and layer in dish (I used a loaf pan) After one layer done, add the cream cheese mixture on top. Keep on dipping, and layering the cream cheese mixture in as many layers as you want. (I used 24 lady fingers.)

Refrigerate at least an hour before serving.
Add low fat White Chocolate Mousse frozen yogurt on top. Yummy! Chocolate shavings or other colorful fruit of your choice may be used for extra color and flavor.

Try it, you'll love it - be creative and do your own thing.

I used these to make tiramisu as well as have them with coffee. I have one complaint. These get mushy. I would like to try the soft type but have not been able to find them to see if they hold their shape and don't fall apart in desserts or with coffee.

Wonderful substitute for the hard-to-find version. I use them for trifle as long as fresh fruits are available and make a variety of tiramisus with them. They have a very long shelf-life because they're essentially dried.

[...]they are PERFECT for Tiramisu. That's what I use these for. The rectangular packaging makes it easy to store. They keep really well. I usually order 5 packages at a time because I live in Hawaii and can't find them on island. I highly recommend them.
