Sweet Olive Oil Biscuits from Spain have been made in a small village near Seville since 1915. Local women flattened each torta by hand and, after baking, wrapped each one in wax paper. Today, the plant is modern, located in the same village. Local women still flatten the tortas by hand, and they still hand wrap each torta in wax paper.

Everyone loves Tortas de Aceite by San Martin De Porres! They are so light, delicate, and crisp. Slightly sweet with a gentle flavor of olive oil and a hint of anise. They are great with triple-crème cheeses, tea and coffee. Enjoy them for breakfast, as a mid-day snack, or anytime during the day. Theses tortas are all-natural and made with the finest ingredients.

Comments about Tortas de Aceite:

Firstly, in response to the reviewer who gave 4 stars but wrote disappointingly
"Too many broken bits and not the savory that I expected" - I think what makes these what they are shouldn't be a negative criticism/review and detract from the quality of this product!

Now for the proper review -
I never knew about these/heard of these before given one for free at the John Lewis Foodhall.
How can something so light and crisp be so full of character and flavour...
Just the the right level of sweetness and incredibly light left me wanting to buy a whole box!!!
So that's what i'm going to do next time I'm in the foodhall!
They can be enjoyed wholly by themselves or equally with a good cup of tea as a light snack...but maybe next time i'll opt for a savoury combination!

Thank you Ines Rosales...Thank you!

Comments about Tortas de Aceite:

Oh these are delicious! I bought them at [...] thinking it was a salty cracker for cheese but then upon tasting them, realized they're more for a light dessert snack. I love them, however as they're not overly sweet and they're light tasting...even slightly refreshing, must be the anise.

I am so happy and proud to say that these were part of my childhood snacks, the anise seeds (ajonjoli) give them the special flavor that you can experience with your taste and smell senses, they are real, genuine the ingredients are pure, local and all natural: anise seeds, extra virgin olive oil... Ines Rosales are the best! thanks for selling them!
