The literal translation of Creme Brulee is "burnt cream." In essence, this dessert is a chilled, stirred custard with a carmerlized sugar topping. The caramelized topping is brittle, offering a textural contrast to the smooth, creamy custard beneath. This particular mix is made by the Oetker Comapny of Ontario, Canada. We were most impressed by its quality and scrumptious flavor, and its ease of preparation.

Comments about Creme Brulee Mix:

I use this product in dessert tortes along with an assortment of fruits, nuts and berries.I let the Creme Brulee cool slightly before pouring into the fruit/berry..etc. baked shell. I reduce the recommended liquid quantity 3-4 oz. or add toasted coconut or crushed ameretti cookies to give more body to the filling so that the pie slices hold there shape.Guests think that I've spent hours preparing. Suggested Filings: Bananas Foster, Mango and Strawberries. Have some fun!
