the bright flavors of fresh citrus fruits. Perfect as a gift, these chocolates are also beautiful on a dessert tray or decorating the top of a cake or mousse. For an extra touch of class, use the citrus strips as a garnish on the rim of a Grand Mariner cosmopolitan or lemon drop martini!

Based in Normandy since 1991, and on its site at Moyon since 2004, the family firm of Les Chevaliers d'Argouges has proved a commercial and financial success. The basic rule is simple - they only make the very best with the very best. That is why at Les Chevaliers d'Argouges the master chocolatiers insist on the top quality cocoa beans (only Criollo, Forastero and Trinitario are used) from the best production sites in West Africa (mainly Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria.) For the dark chocolate ‘tuiles' range hazelnuts from Piedmont are selected; all the candied fruits are from French confectioners and the best Calvados and Pommeau produced in Normandy goes into the liqueur chocolates.

The orange slices are dipped in 70% dark cocoa, while the lemon is enrobed in 35% milk chocolate. Varieties sold separately.

Comments about Chocolate Citron by Les Chevaliers d'Argouges:

I used these as decorations for an ice cream dessert. The tartness of the orange is balanced with the chocolate covering; these stripes were a delightful contrast to the ice cream, and the dark chocolate paired well with the vanilla ice cream.
