In 1892 Trieste, in Italy, was a city of trade, culture, and history. Coffee, like literature, art, and music became a part of Trieste's history. Already in 1831, the city was the seat of the Trieste Coffee Association. Among the names of its members, Hermann Hausbrandt stands out; a farsighted and enlightened entrepreneur, destined to leave a definite mark on coffee culture.

He set up the first coffee roasting facility in Trieste in 1892. He sold roasted coffee when, at the time, families were still buying and “burning” green beans. He used the first electrically motored machines and the exclusive “Grevenbroich” system to obtain perfect roasting; the creation of a cooling system, and an efficient distribution system.

Today the factory at Nervesa della Battaglia in the province of Treviso is equipped with modern technology. The focus is still on getting the very best arabica coffee beans from around the world. For an unparalleled aroma and taste, Hausbrandt makes the perfect espresso. Ground and pressurized.

The unmistakable aroma and perfectly balanced taste of Hausbrandt quality are also available in a decaffeinated version, with caffeine content guaranteed not to exceed 0.10.
