Irving farm is located 90 miles from New York City in the Hudson Valley region. All coffee is roasted in an early 19th century carriage house which has been converted into a modern roasting facility. Coffee beans from small Estate farms around the world are shipped to Irving Farm and stored in a climate-controlled environment before being roasted to perfection. Each coffee has gone through extensive study and cupping to determine its finest roast profile. Since every coffee is different, whether through climatic or altitude growing conditions, the roasting times and temperatures are also different. Once a profile is determined, full bodied flavorful coffee can be consistently created with every roast in their state of the art Deidrich Manufacturing roasting machine. This roaster was chosen due to its “maneuverability” during the roasting process that allows them to bring out a coffee's truest flavor characteristics.

Contrary to popular belief, dark roast coffee has less caffeine than lighter roasts. When making espresso, hot water passes swiftly through ground coffee, leaving more caffeine in the ground rather than in your cup.

Irving Farm has created a full bodied dark roast ideal for espresso with a blend of Sumatran, Colombian, Brazilian and Ugandan Robusta beans. It is an intense blend of coffees from around the world with a pronounced smokiness; rich and tangy with a spicy, caramel finish.

Comments about Irving Farm Italian Roast Espresso:

Very nice, enticing aroma comes from grinding the beans and brewing. Well balanced on the palette. Not bitter at all when ground and brewed properly. Better than Starbuck's Expresso Roast.
