While many Americans are accustomed to single-serving tea bags, most of the world's best gourmet teas are only sold loose in tins or wooden boxes. This stainless steel tea infuser allows you to make a cup of your favorite brew from loose tea leaves. Simply fill the spring-loaded ball with tea and dip it in piping hot water for two to four minutes. Here's a tip: make a second cup of tea before discarding the leaves - the second infusion often makes a better brew than the first!

Not for folks with Arthritis
By Lucy from Arkansas on 11/1/2007
Cons:
Difficult To Use
Best Uses:
Loose tea
Describe Yourself:
Casual Cook, Health Conscious
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It took me a few minutes to figure out that you had to "squeeze" this contraption to open it. The opening is not very wide and so you have to put the tea into it by hand, instead of scoop it up. Because the opening is small it is also difficult to "dump" the used tea leaves. Folks with arthritis or carpel tunnel will find this difficult to "squeeze".

I used this for a one cup deal, and was very pleased that I was able to do so. Bags are okay, but I prefer the loose tea and with this I didn't have to make a full pot.
