Italian cuisine is diverse, dynamic and delicious. From Milan to Tuscany to Sicily, this country produces some of the world's favorite gourmet delights. If you're like us, you'll love this collection of Italy's best cheeses, meats and sweets. This sampler includes:
  • Sliced Prosciutto: Each vacuum-sealed packet contains enough pre-sliced authentic Italian prosciutto to make two hearty sandwiches. This succulent, fruity cured ham is also a vital part of the antipasto course - try it layered over melon or wrapped around a Grissini (Italian breadstick). (3 oz.)
  • Bella di Cerignola Olives: Imported from Apulia, these plump, meaty olives are the largest in the world with a clean, fruity taste. (13 oz.)
  • Provolone Piccante: Sharp! We love this Piccante version, which is rarely available in the U.S .and much more interesting than the mild Provolone most Americans have come to know. (8 oz.)
  • Grana Padano Stravecchio: This full-bodied cheese is born from the ancient traditions of northern Italian food culture. One of the world's dairy masterpieces, it can be used as a table cheese or as an ingredient in numerous recipes. (8 oz.)
  • Mountain Gorgonzola: Lomardy's famous blue cheese, the Mountain variety is semi-firm yet spreadable. This world renowned product is excellent in salads or served as a table cheese. Try it drizzled with honey for dessert! (8 oz.)
  • Crostini Tuscan Crackers: All-natural Italian flatbreads perfect for cheese. (3.88 oz.)
  • Tiramisu by Solo Italia: The most classic of all Italian desserts, prepared for you following a traditional local recipe. (3 oz.)
  • Profiteroles by Solo Italia: Delicate pastry puffs filled with vanilla custard and covered with fine chocolate. Made in Milan. (3 oz.)
  • Please note that any item temporarily out of stock will be substituted with a similar item of equal value.

Not impressed at all with my purchase of this product. I could simply go to the gourmet section of my favorite grocery mart and create the same package for less money and better quality tastes. [...]

THEY SHOULD MAKE THE AMOUNTS LARGER, AND ALLOW CHOICES TO BE ADDED IN THE COMBO. I WAS DISSATISFIED WITH THE WHOLE THING. [...] THE PRESENTATION OF IT WAS NOT THERE EITHER.

Enjoyed all of it. Gorgonzola has very rich flavor. Did not "Love" the Grissini though. Everyone must try the Boschetto al Tartufo Bianchetto: delcate flavor with awesome hint of truffle. Cant go wrong.

Comments about A Little Bit of Italy:

Great sampler of [...] Italian offerings. Don't understand Teddys comments as all of these are available indivually, and it states quite clearly in the description what you'll be receiving. I've been an [...] regular for years now, and have sent countless of such collections as gifts, which have always been well received. Keep up the good work!

Italy Less Than Expected

Comments about A Little Bit of Italy:

The combination turned out to be different than I imagined it to be. On top of that, few, if any, of the items are available separately. A combination can be a good promotional tool for the items when arranged in a supportive way.

Comments about A Little Bit of Italy:

Yes, it's that good. Open a bottle of wine (italian, of course), sit back and feel transported to Italy. An amazing collection of flavors. Have as appetizers or, add some olives, bread and your favorite olive oil and make it a full dinner.

Fabulous Way To Test The Waters
By T StocktonVerified Reviewer from Tucson, AZ on 3/1/2007
Pros:
Good Value, High Quality
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about A Little Bit of Italy:

This is the best way to sample different cheeses to see what you love and what you don't really care for without spending a lot of money or getting stuck with a chunk of cheese you really don't like. The cheeses were really wonderful and we've discovered new "favorites" that we'll be more likely to order as a stand-alone in the future. My family loved this so much, we bought 1 for my sister and her husband as an anniversary gift. They loved it so much they ordered more for gifts for their employees.

By Doug the DinerVerified Reviewer from Jackson, Tennessee on 2/24/2007
Pros:
High Quality, Wonderful package
Cons:
Expensive, Spongata unfavorable
Best Uses:
Great as a gift
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about A Little Bit of Italy:

My wife went to Italy a few years back and loved the places she visited and the foods she ate. "A Little Bit of Italy" was a great suprise to her as my gift presentation for Valentine's Day. The spongata didn't pass the test but everything else was wonderful. A trip to Italy at home is a lot cheaper than the airfare!
