This is an artisanal wafer - like sweet biscuit. Tegole was created in 1930 by a small group of local bakers from Valle d'Aosta, Italy. Through the years this fine biscuit has become a tradition within the Alps. Made from hazelnuts gathered from the Piedmont region, these addictive biscuits are all natural, with no preservatives.

I love these little wafers

Cons:
Delicate
Best Uses:
With Gelato, With tea or coffee
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

I read a few criticisms of these wafers by other reviewers, but personally, I love Tegole. A few were broken when they arrived, but we just ate the pieces!!

As an avowed tea drinker, I've tried all sorts of imported biscuits, wafers, etc. and these are a new favorite. We also like to stick one in the top of a scoop of gelato, and it's a perfect, crunchy accompaniment to the smooth ice cream.

These very thin little cookies are a treat with tea, coffee, or maybe some sherry. They have a delicate hazelnut flavor that is delicious.

Pros:
High Quality
Best Uses:

These were very good! Subtle taste of hazlenuts; their fresh taste is similar to what you would imagine a hazelnut meringue to be.

Just ok

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The taste was good, but they were all crushed, so I ended up making a crust out of them.

You can't eat just one!
By Helen, the oenophileVerified Reviewer from Panhandle, FL on 7/30/2007
Pros:
Addictive
Cons:
A slight "off" taste
Best Uses:
To accompany ice cream
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These wafers are very good, although the ones I received had a slight taste of rancid hazelnut. (I couldn't find an expiration date on the package.) Even so, they went quickly. They are very light and crispy. You can't eat just one!

Good, but could be better
By science boy from Whidbey Island, WA on 7/23/2007
Pros:
Good Value
Cons:
Lacks Hazelnut Taste
Best Uses:
With Ice Cream
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Warning: I'm a hazelnut lover - if it has hazelnuts I'll eat it up with reckless abandon. These biscuits were good but lacked the bright hazelnut taste I've enjoyed in other hazelnut biscuits or candies. Must keep in ziploc bag as they suck up moisture and become soggy quickly. They do go well with Coffee Ice Cream
